(Walt Disney Studios, 1940) In 1940, "Snow White" and "Pinocchio" storyman Otto Englander along with writer Dun Roman worked on a spoof of the popular Sherlock Holmes films of the time with a Basset Hound as the main character. Titled, "Inspector Bones; The Case of the Missing Circus", the project made it through the storyboarding stage of pre-production before being stopped due to wartime concerns. This amazing studio-bound book features (149) original storyboards that layout the film as they envisioned it. From the opening titles until the completion of the feature film, detailed drawings and layouts introduce you to a multitude of characters, suggest sight gags, and layout the story. Walt Disney himself approved the stop order by initialing the front page of the book. An unbelievable piece of Disney Studio history giving a detailed glimpse that very few will ever have into a Disney film that was never finished. Binder measures 16.5"x13.5" In fine condition. Contains every storyboard for the complete film except for the very last one. The last storyboard is currently part of the Walt Disney Archives collection and can be seen on page 158 of the book "The Disney that Never Was" by Charles Solomon.
