<td width="100%">
An exquisite original masterpiece by Yuan Hongbing, "Cats," ca.1990. Dimensions are (without frame)16" tall, 20" wide (18" tal, 22" tall with frame). Yuan Hongbing was a student of Zhang Baosong. Mr. Zhang is a famous international artist, most renown for his lyrical "big" brushworks. This fabulous work is known as multi-color cottonwork. Cotton fibers died in various colors are manipulated hand using various tools and applied to a backing. No glues or adhesives are used. The various color fibers are manipulated, woven, combed, twisted into the final 3-dimensional image. These cats seem alive and literally touchable. Once completed, the work is sandwiched by a sheet of glass. Which cannot be removed once applied otherwise the static will pull the design apart. So great care must be observed when reframing (if desired) to keep the pane of glass firmly on the cottonwork and not to let it move or shift. The condition consensus is excellent condition without any injury, ready for display.
