Introduced in 1937, the Order of the German Eagle was made expressly for presentation to foreign nationals as a token of esteem and respect. Made in multiple grades, recipients included several world leaders, the Chairman of IBM, Henry Ford and Charles Lindbergh. At the center of the design is a white enamel filled Maltese cross, with a white enamel accented German Eagle with swastika between each arm, and a "fan" arrangement on the top arm which holds a hanging ring. With a red, white and black neck ribbon and a red leatherette presentation case.
