This unsual item was featured in 1001 Open Salts, 1996, #3730, described as "scarce." The pattern is just like the Massachusetts State pattern by US Glass (1898-1910). The open salt can be turned upside down to function as a toothpick holder or match holder. At the bottom of the toothpick holder, the name Jos. Kuhn & Son can be read; it is embossed backwards on the bottom of the salt cellar end. It is in mint condition.
