One of a kind California dress dagger by F. Watson with flamboyant serpentine shaped blade. Cast German hilt inlaid with fancy abalone scales and engraved on mid-bolsters, ferrule, pommel, and straps. Measures 11-3/16” overall with 6-7/8” blade. Marked “F. Watson, Maker, Calusa, Calif.” Good to very good condition overall with some scattered light to moderate pitting on show side with some heavier pitting on the obverse. Hilt is very good plus to near fine condition, select abalone scales. Pictured in California’s Best by Brad and Brian Witherall, page 146. A very rare form and unusual knife. Hugh Hayes Collection.
