A) Harrington & Richardson Gas Rifle with British Proofs. Produced by Harrington & Richardson for the Lake Erie Chemical Company. Identical to the Webley & Scott Number 1 Mark I flare gun, except that it has a permanently attached wooden buttstock. Has a 2 line address and patent markings on top of the chamber and broad arrow, pennant and crown/ letter proofs on the left side. Broad arrow stamps also present on the frame, trigger guard and hammer. Smooth stock, with sling swivels and a martially proofed buttplate.

Condition: Very good as arsenal refurbished, with 98% of the blue/ black finish on the barrel, with a slight plum patina on the frame, scattered handling marks and pitting below the surface. Stock is very good, with mild pressure dents and a slight crack starting directly behind the tang. Matching barrel and frame. Mechanically excellent.

B) Scarce Swiss Army flare pistol, with "FW+" and "Swiss cross in shield" markings on the frame, with a checkered hammer, trigger guard/ break open lever are all in one, a short brown sling and ribbed grips.

Condition: Very good, with 80% of the original blue finish, showing edge wear, scattered spotting and handling marks, along with patches of gray patina. Grips are very good, with scuffs and pressure dents. Mechanically fine.
