Olympics nude male athlete very old small bronze is a gorgeous statuette / statue "The Discus Thrower" ; it measures about 5 high x 2 inches across at the base. The discus thrower is a fine example of the genius which could seize the most expressive and harmonious gesture at its moment of quickest movement. It's always a wonderful piece to commemorate the ancient Olympic Games. It is made of a high quality type material : surely bronze, as is with broken leg still intact and great statue... for any shelf, table or collection. It is said that: Greek art reflects the major role played by athletics in Greek society and after 480 B.C. Greek sculpture was in possession of an almost infallible technique producing statues of Gods and of women and men. Such Olympic action was by a sculptor who created the statue in movement. The hole under is to let air when fired at extreme high heat so it will not break. Had this for over 50 years... and just re-found I tin the attic, for your pleasure !
