Mark Oliver is a masterful portraitist and has already worked with international stars such as Tom Hanks and Anthony Hopkins, as well as with celebrities such as Angela Merkel and Boris Becker

The present work by Oliver Mark is a toned silver gelatin print depicting the American artist Jeff Koons in front of one of his large-scale collages. The image was originally selected for the poster of an Oliver Mark exhibition, which was organized in 2001 by the well-known Galerie Imago Fotokunst Berlin.



The photograph is verso inscribed, dated and signed with pencil ‘Jeff Koons. Berlin 2000 © Oliver Mark’. The image size is 28.5 x 28 cm and the overall dimensions of the work are 40.5 x 30.5 cm.



Oliver Mark (b. 1963)

After his professional training, Oliver Mark started to work as an assistant at the Burda Studios in Offenburg. Since 1991, he has worked as a freelance photographer and reached world fame for his portrait pictures of celebrities from all fields of public life. He usually takes his photographs with his SLR or Polaroid camera, in order to render his works a special immediate touch. Mark’s works are regularly published in magazines such as the Architectural Digest or the Vanity Fair and have been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions all over the world. Besides, the artist has published five photo books so far. Oliver Mark lives and works in Berlin. (cbo)
