A 28-page softbound signed copy of California Supreme Court case #13874—Myrtle Lee Hardy vs Oliver Norville Hardy—signed by Oliver Hardy on the front cover in black ink. In fine condition with light toning and handling wear. Hardy’s bitter and well-publicized divorce from his wife in 1937 nearly damaged the star’s career, and continued to drain much of his energy and money for many years. This case transcript documents his ex-wife’s follow-up suit for more alimony, alleging that Hardy had fallen short on the annual payments agreed upon in their original case. The judge eventually reached a decision in Hardy’s favor, finding him not liable for any additional alimony. In fine condition with only minimal edge wear. A fantastic insight into private life in Hollywood Babylon.
