Huge pair of mounted Texas longhorns from Old Tucson Studios, measuring approximately 44? x 12? x 21?, with a thick leather-and-rope wrapped center, decorated with rivets in the form of a curvy swastika (in this case, a motif used by southwestern Native American Indian tribes like the Navajo and Hopi, rather than its deplorable later symbolism). The horns are mounted on a smaller wooden plaque, which could likely no longer support their weight if hung on a wall. In fine condition, with some cracking to the wooden mount. This is the only pair of horns that Old Tucson Studios founder Bob Shelton kept in his office, which means they meant a great deal to him—of all the horns that he could have chosen to preserve, he chose these. As a relic of Old Tucson Studios' representation of the American southwest, this surviving cinematic artifact is a decidedly impressive piece.
