This old spongeware pitcher is wonderful! It is blue and white on yellow ware.

Standing 8 inches tall, it may have been used as a milk pitcher. It measures 4 1/4 inches on the top through the spout, which has been minimized in the size of its protrusion. It is 6 1/2 inches wide with the handle. It has a 4-inch bevelled base.

It is a sound piece with the outer glaze in overall perfect condition. There is a small glaze chip on the inside edge just above the handle. This can be expected due to the age and mode of use of the piece.

This will make an excellent addition to a spongeware or primitives collection!
