This is a large mid 19th century 1850's Napoleon lll style palace vase. This amazing blaster shaped vase is hand painted on the front with a romanticized scene of a colorful Turkish harem. This scene reminds me of French Romantic Artist Ingres paintings of Turkish harems he painted at the end of his life. The vase has bold Rococo Revival scrolls all over it in bright gold gilt. Some of the gold is engraved. Height 19" inches. This vase was made into a lamp at one time. It has a hole drilled in the bottom. Old repaired lip and the base of the vase has hairlines.
