<B>Okmulgee, OK- Trade Script</B></I> $1 Jan. 1, 1934<BR>This piece of Trade Script was intended to encourage trade within the city limits. Purchases with different merchants earned stamps worth 3 each. Once 35 stamps were earned, this certificate could be redeemed for $1 at the office of the Commissioner of Finance. The dates and locations of the stamps were written on each stamp as they were earned, creating a trail of activity for this owner. Some of the places that this holder redeemed stamps between 3/13/33 and 12/12/33 included, the City, McCray Packing Co., the Water Dept., Wide Awake, Quaker, Neal Electric, and many others.
