This is an exceptional fully beaded panel from the Ojibwe (Ojibwa) Native American Indians and dating to the 19th Century. The panel, of a nice large to medium size, shows a red trade clothe wool construction with the beadwork having an early trade clothe calico backing and canvas like front of a period correct age. The entire front shows an outstanding fully beaded rectangular design with a whimsical floral pattern with all 19th Century glass trade seed beads. The beadwork has a chalk white background with pattern in Cheyenne pink, greasy yellow, butterscotch, cobalt, semi-transparent, semi-transparent Cheyenne pink, semi-transparent blue, green, light blue, violet, and more. The panel shows a wood dowel at the top for display purposes. Overall the piece is in very good well preserved condition. Provenance: From the private family collection of Sarah Alling of Helena, Montana. The family collection of Sarah Alling, a 5th Generation Montanan, began in the 19th Century and has grown since. Along with being an avid collector herself, Sarah co-founded with Bruce VanLandingham Sundog Fine Art of Bozeman, Montana which was both part museum and gallery. Overall measures 25”L x 8”W.
