The lot features an early 1900's fully "loom" beaded headband attributed to the Ojibwe Native American Indians. Beadwork can be classified into two categories, that of on-loom beaded and off-loom beaded. The piece shows a very early calico floral trade clothe inside lining with blue ocher mineral pigment dyed Indian tanned hide adorned with the glass trade seed beadwork, all being trade thread sewn. The beads are all glass trade seed beads in chalk white, medium green, red, Cheyenne pink, and semi-transparent green. The piece shows some loss to the beadwork, but overall is in good condition. Measures 21.5" inside circumference by 1.75"W.
