Oil Painting Runaway Covered Wagon - Roberts. We believe this exciting original oil painting is by Colorado artist, Jack Roberts. It is signed in the lower right corner, ''Roberts 58''. We have not been able to verify that this is indeed Jack Roberts, but the biography and genre of artwork by Jack Roberts matches this painting and era. It measures 13.5''H x 23.5''W and is in a wood frame. According to a press release by the Colorado Mountain College, Rifle, CO eNews: ''Jack Roberts was a self-professed ''flawed character'' whose struggle with alcohol plagued his early years. As a young man, he married a creatively gifted woman, fathered a son (Miller), then left the family and moved to western Colorado. ... In his studio south of Redstone, Roberts created as many as 40 paintings a year. Public collections of his work can be seen at the Museum of Western Colorado in Grand Junction, the Leanin' Tree Museum in Boulder, the Colorado Press Association in Denver, the Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge and Spa of the Rockies, U.S. Bank and the Redstone Castle. The Citizen Telegram also has a few of Roberts' works hanging on the walls.''
