The lot features a nice pottery polychrome painted bowl from the Ohkay Owingeh San Juan Pueblo Native American Indians and dating to the 1800’s. The bowl shows a red pottery hand formed construction with white and black geometric painting. Early 1800’s Ohkay Owingeh San Juan pottery is very scarce and predominantly utilitarian in form with this being a nice representation with well-preserved condition. The pueblo was first founded around 1200 AD during the Pueblo III Era, and its said the Tewa people moved from the San Luis Valley of southern Colorado. The piece shows good condition with no visible chips or cracks. The bowl measures 4 1/2" in diameter by 2 3/4" tall.
