Ohio-style American full-stock percussion Kentucky rifle with ornate engraved silver and brass inlays. Unsigned. The rifle measures 54” overall, with 38-1/2” medium to slightly heavy weight octagon barrel ofapprox. .46 caliber. 8-groove, deeply rifled. The barrel measures almost exactly an inch across the flats. The barrel is nicely engraved with florals and panel for maker’s signature, which may have been lightly signed but now is not visible. The rifle shows nicely striped stock with minor repairs and light refinishing. The patchbox is lightly engraved and pierced, made in 4 pieces. The lock is lightly engraved and in the Americanstyle. The area of bolster has a brass flash-protector inlaid behind it and to the breech, and there may have been a repair in this area. The left side of the stock shows a nicely engraved eagle surrounded by twoacorns and pearl inlay. Also figures of dog, bird, spangles, florals, fish, and other folk-type decorations. Approx. 25 engraved silver inlays. The tang is drilled for a peep-type sight which is now missing, and the
