<B>Ogoni (Nigeria)</B></I><BR>Mask, <I>Elu</B></I><BR>Wood, pigment<BR>Height: 6 ¼ inches Width: 5 inches Depth: 4 ¼ inches<BR><BR>This mask has a small face with a projecting mouth, and a crescent-shaped hairstyle running from side to side. The mask has a heavy soot patina. The proper left tip of the horn is abraded, and there is a 1½ inch piece of the lower flange missing from the center toward the proper left.<BR><BR>Functions for such are indicated in the previous lot.<BR><BR>Provenance: H.
