Partially printed invitation reads in full: ''The Duke of Wellington requests the honor of Mr. Justice Coltmans (?) Marshall to dine and sleep at Stratfield Saye / Company on Wednesday the 26th of February at seven o'clock. Apsley House / The favor of an answer is desired.'' With a note to verso in an unknown hand, ''Hyde Park Gardens / The writing is the Duke's winter of 1840'' presumably dating the invitation. Measures 4.75'' x 3.25'' with some toning, else very good.
