<B><I>Official Army Register for 1829</B></I></B></I> <B>Including Staff Assignments to West Point Military Academy.</B></I> (Washington: Adjutant General's Office, 1829), 39 pages, rebound in three-quarter leather and marbled covers with gilt on leather title features and decorative gilt on the spine, 12 mo (5" x 7.25"). This important roster includes the names of future president Zachary Taylor (posted as a Lt. Colonel at Fort Snelling in the Upper Mississippi). Of particular note is the listing of "distinguished cadet" Robert E. Lee, who is ranked as second out of his class of 46 cadets. Signed on page 38 by "R. Jones", the adjutant general. This slim volume is in very good condition with only minimal shelf wear. Pages are slightly age toned.
