An Officer's Journal (In Log Form), kept by an unidentified Officer aboard the H.M.S. "Athol", 6th rate, 503 tons and 28 guns. From August 6th, 1829 through Feb. 15rth, 1830. Departing from Portsmouth, England to Corunna, Tangier Bay, Gibraltar, Tangier Bay, Teneriffe, Bonavista, Sierra Leone, Port Antonio, Prince's Island, Accra, near the Sherbro, and ending off Cape Sierra Leone. A Slaver is taken on October 1st, 1929 and several other vessels are intercepted. Likely kept by the Purser with quite satisfactory comments throughout, 183 pages with a-day-to-page while asea. 8vo. 1/2 green polished Morocco, gilt decorated and banded spine. Marbled EP's and edges. Good++ to VG with moderate general wear.
