Martin Luther King funeral program. Obsequies program was distributed to attendees at the 9 April 1968 service at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia as a powerful tribute to the felled leader. Program contains details of the memorial service as well an eloquent eulogy occupying three full pages. A timeline comprises King's monumental achievements in civil rights, and three more pages highlight quotes from King's inspiring speeches. In many of these, King directly addresses the possibility he would one day be killed for the movement he led. One quote, dated 1962 reads: ''It may get me crucified. I may even die. But I want it said even if I die in the struggle that 'He died to make men free'''. 14pp. program measures 5.5'' x 8.25''. Faint toning to spine, else fine.
