This lovely dresser is a marvelous example of pioneer heritage preservation. Orphaned at a local auction, this early piece was covered in green paint and lacked hardware. Preservation Project artisans revealed its stunning beauty and unusual quality. Now its great original features can be seen and enjoyed, especially the remarkable quarter sawn oak graining on the double serpentine drawer veneers and solid oak dresser top and sides. Note the hand carved claw feet, detailing on the applied carvings, graceful wishbone mirror frame, beveled glass mirror, and split top drawer. Its medium size at 40 1/4" wide permits it to be showcased in almost any bedroom. The only non-original elements of this piece are restoration hardware and a new backer board for the mirror, which was too damaged to save.
