A wonderfully carved figural elephant ivory handled cane in the from of an alligator lying on a rock slab. This gatorhas tail curved downward, forming a crook handle. Length 5.5", height 2.75", over 1" wide in places with glass eyes.Mounted on a tapered malacca shaft with gold-filled washed type collar and 1.25" horn & steel ferrule. Totallength 36.25". The best "gator" cane we've had the pleasure to offer!Wonderful patina, no problems.(EST 1000-1500)
