OTTO VON STULPNAGEL

Currency:USD Category:Collectibles / Militaria Start Price:100.00 USD Estimated At:200.00 - 300.00 USD
OTTO VON STULPNAGEL
(1878-1948) German military commander of France during World War II. Stupnagel was, ironically, an opponent of Hitler's plan to eradicate the world's Jewish population. He therefore refused to carry out mass executions, resigning in 1942 and lived in Berlin for the remainder of the war. He committed suicide in 1948 while awaiting his trial for war crimes. Scarce signed book, Reich und Rom ("Empire and Rome") by Werner Beumelburg (Berlin, 1937), hardbound 8vo., inscribed on the first free endpaper: "To my comrade and assistant Otto Graf as a Christmas salute, Christmas 1944 Otto von Stupnagel". Expected light toning to edges, otherwise very good.

Estimate: $200 - 300.
