ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPHS AND EPHEMERA BELONGING TO LT. MALCOLM SHEEHAN, NO. 3 SQDN, AFC. Lot consists of 20 orig World War I photographs depicting aircraft, pilots, trenches, and the grave of Capt. Storrer, No. 69 Sqdn, RFC and No. 3 Sqdn, AFC. Most are identified in Sheehan’s hand. Included are six World War II photographs of Australian training aircraft. The ephemera consists of leave passes, a London restaurant menu, newspaper clippings regarding the death of General Maude, November 1917, an invitation from the Countess of Harrowby, a Field Service postcard, and a most interesting 1918 map titled “Message Map No. 13” of the area near von Richthofen’s crash site. Map shows locations of trenches, rifle pits, machine guns, etc. CONDITION: Good for their age. SIZE: Map: 16-1/4” x 12-3/4”. Photographs: Range from 2-1/2” x 1-5/8”, 4-1/4” x 3”, to 6-1/4” x 8-3/8”.
