AN ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING OF A MEDITERRANEAN COASTAL VILLAGE

A well-executed and highly attractive original oil painting in the Cubist style of Georges Braque, of a Greek Mediterranean coastal village. The dominant color palette is a range of greens and browns, with a wide spectrum of other exciting colors throughout the cloud-filled sky and shoreline. The painting depicts a crescent-shaped beach with fishing and leisure boats filling the waters. The colors and brushstroke technique of this piece definitely set an emotional mood for the viewer, while simultaneously drawing the viewer into the scene. The composition is classic and superbly done, as well.

Dimensions are 21.5 inches high by 36.5 inches (over 3 feet) wide. The matting is an off-white textured cloth which has some minor scuffing. Age of this piece is circa mid-20th century. The artist's signature appears at the lower right, 'Y. Chesare'. Please note that there was apparently at one time a probable small tear in the canvas (a small canvas patch can be seen on the reverse of the painting), which has been professionally restored and is not visible at all when viewing the painting from the front. Additional photos are available upon request.
