ORDER OF THE GERMAN EAGLE, 5TH CLASS, WITH SWORDS

Currency:USD Category:Collectibles / Militaria Start Price:375.00 USD Estimated At:750.00 - 1,000.00 USD
ORDER OF THE GERMAN EAGLE, 5TH CLASS, WITH SWORDS
Desirable political award, the German Order of the Eagle, 5th Class, with Swords. The Order was instituted by Adolf Hitler on May 1,1937 and awarded largely to foreign diplomats sympathetic to Nazism, although Henry Ford and Charles Lindbergh, for example, were Americans so honored. This example, with swords, would have been awarded only to a military figure. This example measures 45mm from edge to edge, with all inlay work in fine condition obverse and reverse. The top of the "fan" is stamped "5" indicating the class of the medal, and the suspension ring is imprinted "21". The ribbon is soiled but otherwise intact, and the pin remains firmly stitched thereto. An excellent example in better condition than is usually found.

Estimate: $750 - 1,000.
