Cornucopia gold mining district. Oregon Gold Mining Company of Louisville, Kentucky, incorporated Dec. 13, 1889. Certificate No. 75, issued for 10 shares to Mrs. Eliza Rowland. Datelined Louisville, KY, June 30, 1890. Signed by Geo. H. Dietz as President and H.W. Bohmer as Secretary. Vignette near center top of allegorical woman holding a cornucopia with a pick and shovel at her feet, a tree on her right side and rock formation on her left. Black border and print on pink paper with gilt seal at lower left. U/C. Geo. H. Dietz & Co., Louisville, KY. Printed next to seal. This district was about 50 miles east of Baker City. The Oregon Gold Mining Company in Cornucopia reported a 20-stamp mill in 1889 [Ref: ohs.org/education/oregonhistory]. Foldlines, otherwise very fine.
