Lot of 5, including: Sierra Nevada Consolidated Mining Company, incorporated in Oregon, 1886. Certificate No. 525 issued for 1000 shares to T. Ballo. Datelined Portland, OR, 1888. Signed by (illegible) as President and D.F. Sherman as Secretary. Small, crude underground mining vignette near center top. Black border and print on pink paper, 9" x 5". Cancelled by rubber stamp. This famous Coeur D' Alene, Idaho company had its main office in Oregon. Several stains along left border, otherwise very fine. 2) Oregon Diamond Coal, Mining and Developing Company, incorporated in Oregon, 1906. Certificate No. 394 issued for 400 shares to S.A. Donachy, datelined 1907. Small underground mining vignettes in upper corners with large mountain mining vignette at center top. Signed by Chas. Barnard as President and C.R. Lewthwaite as Secretary. Gilt seal, border, and underprint with black print. Printer: Goes. 3) Blue River Mining Company, incorporated in Oregon in 1906. Cert. No. 23, issued fro 500 shares to Fredck. M. Goodell, datelined Portland, May, 1902. Signed by Martin Pipos as President and S.L. Avery as Secretary. Large, underground mining vignette at center top. Gilt seal with red border and black print. 4) Highland Gold Mines Company, incorporated in Oregon in 1903. Cert. No. 2471 issued for 500 sahres to O.H. Lee. Datelined Sumpter, Oregon, February 1905. Signed by Neil Sorenson as President and J.F. Shelton as Secretary. Brown paper with black print and gilt seal and underprint. Certificate stubb still attached. From whom transferred was M.H. Knapp, who along with Sorenson and Shelton organized the company. The company lost a court battle in 1907 in the Oregon Supreme Court to the Haines Mercantile Co. over unpaid balance for provisions purchased. 5) Pacific Tin Consolidated Corporation specimen blank cert. Incorporated in Maine. Printed name of President and Secretary, both (illegible) by hole punches. Red border and underprint with black print and seal at center bottom.
