Rel. de l'époque : plein vélin à rabats et couture apparente, titre ms. (traces de fermoirs à cordons, plats défraîchis).
Edition originale de cette remarquable chronologie universelle, depuis la création du monde jusqu'en 1571, rédigée par Pierre Opmeer et complétée jusqu'en 1611 par Laurent Beyerlinck. L'ouvrage, qui s'ouvre sur un beau titre gravé sur cuivre par Guillaume de Haen d'après Petrus de Jode, est illustré du portrait d'Opmeer sur cuivre, des 4 Evangélistes et d'innombrables grands portraits en médaillon sur bois in texto. Ces derniers figurent les papes et princes de ce monde, mais aussi des philosophes, des théologiens, littérateurs, historiens, peintres, scientifiques, typographes etc. dont un très grand nombre de l'époque humaniste.
Opmeer (Amsterdam, 1526-1595, Delft), auteur d'ouvrages apologétiques et historiques, était étudiant au Collège des Trois Langues à Louvain (comme Beyerlinck, Anvers, 1578-1627), professeur au Collège de Vaulx ou de la Sainte-Trinité, curé de Herent près de Louvain et professeur de philosophie auprès des chanoines réguliers du couvent de Bethléem de sa paroisse, avant d'être chargé de différentes fonctions ecclésiastiques à Anvers.

Packing and dispatching are entirely at the buyer’s own expense.

Payment will be made in Euro's. We do not accept credit cards neither cheques whose total amount exceed 200 EUR or cheques not validated for higher sum.
Terms of sale require buyers to pay immediately for their purchases, which means that lots will be released to them only when full and cleared payment as been received by us
In addition to the hammer price, the buyer has to pay a buyer’s premium of 21%, V.A.T. inclusive, all strictly in cash and in Euro's (EUR)
In case of original art and if the principles of the author’s rights are applicable, an extra 4% must be paid on each hammer price of at least 1250 EUR
All items are assumed to be in good condition unless otherwise stated. Buyers are kindly invited to carry out their own inspection of the lots they want to buy. All items to be auctioned are on view for several days prior to the sale.
Returning an item after the striking of the hammer will not be accepted, whatever the reason put forward. Those items bought on order must be inspected within 8 days after receipt. Any return after this term will be refused.
All items of the catalogue with the mention « n.c. » (non collationné = not inspected) are not subject to return. Neither are those sold in lots (two items or more) works consisting in multiple volumes and periodicals or series.
If you cannot attend the auction, we can execute written bids on your behalf. To ensure a satisfactory service, it is necessary to make arrangements for the services at least one day before the sale.
On every purchase Belgian law only is applicable, and all cases of dispute are exclusively to the competence of the Brussels Chamber.
