WAYNE VAQUERO REVOLVER. Cal. 45 LC. S# JWV-01001. Bbl. 4.62" w/ blade front sight & frame notched rear. Mfg. 2008 w/ special S# of 1 digit above advertised offering having known S# range of JWV-00001 to JWV-00976. Lee Griffith of Utah designed engraving for John Wayne & other model revs. that were laser engraved. This rev. cut engraved w/ 2 unusual additional features: each end of bbl. & ejector housing plus rear of cyl. decorated w/ very fine gold bands; top of backstrap has gold overlay of cowboy on horse w/ words 'THE LAST COWBOY" above gold in semi-circle pattern. Only additional engraving on grip frame is continuation of cyl. frame onto sides of grip frame where attachment screws are located. Very light, fine engraving to include sides of front sight blade & ejector housing. Very nice scroll engraving w/ areas of shaded backgrounds. Typical John Wayne example was machine engraved by Baron Technology & did not have "The Last Cowboy" image on backstrap. Dark walnut grips w/ laser engraving to include "JW" in oval at top & fish scale serrations w/ borderline on lower portion. Model based on Old Model Vaquero (original) as opposed to current production New Model of smaller dimensions. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory red plastic box w/ packaging plus label indicating Catalog KNV-44JW plus Model 05127. Walnut presentation case w/ maroon velvet lining & velvet pillow filled w/ styrofoam beads to support featured revolver Brass hardware & glass lid w/ etched Ruger eagle logo along w/ "RUGER" in block letters & "Studio" in cursive. Consignor summarization statement listing received directly from Bob Coyle of Talo. Warning marks discreetly located on bottom of bbl. CONDITION: all aspects near excellent; appearing new.
