CONVERSION. Cal. 5.56mm. S# AA1711. Bbl. 16" over brake. A 1980 evolution of a "Shorty" using technology available at the time. Built on an Olympic Arms lower receiver it utilizes a 10" barrel w/ a permanent 6" flash hider. The special beavertail carbine handguards have been fitted to accommodate what appears to be a version of the early "Rhino System" gas piston conversion. It consists of a replacement gas block / front sight assembly which contains a spring loaded op-rod, which replaces the gas tube. Protected post front sight. Carry handle upper receiver w/ forward assist. Dual aperture rear peep sight. Short, fixed tubular shoulder stock. M16 profile bolt carrier. Left side sling swivels, front & rear. Extended bolt release. MAGS: 1 plastic 30 rd. CONDITION: Finish complete & consistent retaining heavy coverage. Bolt carrier still has standard gas key, so a solid key may be necessary to function correctly. Bright bore w/ strong rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. (25-2295/JZ). MODERN. $600-900.
