<B>OLIN TRAVIS (1888-1975)</B></I><BR><I>The Crawford Homestead Near St. Paul, Ark.,</B></I> late 1920s to early 1930s<BR>Oil on canvas<BR>20in. x 24in.<BR>Signed lower center<BR>Signed and titled verso<BR><BR>In 1926, Olin Travis founded the Dallas Art Institute. and for three or four years after that he ran a summer school called the Ozark Summer School of Paintings. This painting was likely painted during one of the summer sessions. The rich impasto is a result of spontaneous brushstrokes loaded with paint. The painting comes with its original hand-carved frame, likely completed by Travis.<BR><BR> <B>Condition Report:</B> Excellent condition with very minor touch up.
