Mar. 21, 1837 Nyholm 8 Rust 12 S/n 1442 Countersigned and re-issued in Salt Lake City. Original date of Mar. 21, 1837 Kirtland counter-signed notes are always under strong demand. One reason is that these notes, originally issued in Kirtland Ohio, were redeemed or un-issued, brought by the Church to Salt Lake City and re-issued. Thusly there are six people who signed or left their monogram on these notes. J. Smith Jr. S. Rigdon from Kirtland, and N.K. Whitney, Brigham Young, Heber C. Kimball, and an initial monogram by Thomas Bullock (were added in Salt Lake City) Most notes issued have scribe signatures applied in Kirtland for J. Smith Jr. and S. Rigdon but all countersigned signatures applied in Salt Lake are the actual signatures including Brigham Young’s. As an interesting note as you will note that Heber C. Kimball signed directly over the signature of S.(ydney) Rigdon. This was intentional as Heber C. Kimball had a strong dislike of Sidney Rigdon who was ex-communicated from the Mormon Church. Later he was re-baptized and returned to the Church. This note is bright with nice signatures and no condition problems other than normal wear for a VF+ note. For accuracy there is a slight bleed or rust spot on the last digit of the serial number and also on Thomas Bullock’s monogram. HKA#63357
