One-armed Union general (1830–1909) who participated at Gettysburg and commanded the Army of Tennessee during Sherman’s March to the Sea. Vintage matte-finish 8 x 9.75 photo of Howard in full military uniform, after the amputation of his right arm, signed in the lower border in black ink, “Oliver Otis Howard, Maj-Gen. U. S. Army (Retired), Burlington, Vt. March 28, 1904.” Framed to an overall size of 8.5 x 10.5. In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
