Autograph Note Signed by George Pickett to John Hopkins (who endorses on verso), dated January 23, 1796, the note assigns dividends of shares in the First Bank of the United States. Hopkins is likely the father of the famous Johns Hopkins who at the time of his death had amassed $2.25 million worth of Baltimore Ohio stock and was a stock holder in every major bank in Richmond. An interesting association item. Crisp and clean, 7" x 5.5", trimmed from it's original transmittal. Very fine.
