Norval Morrisseau was a self taught Indigenous Canadian Artist also known as Copper Thunderbird.

This painting is of the Thunderbird in watercolours. The size of the image is 13 inches in length x 20 inches in height. It's mounted and framed.

In his paintings Norval captured legends and images that came to him in visions or dreams. Morrisseau's early paintings were subjects of myths and traditions of the Anishnaabe people painted on birchbark and moose hide.
Later Morrisseau's style changed by using more standard material like canvas and brighter colorus. The themes of his artwork changed from myths and traditions to his own personal struggles.
