This is an fine high-relief carved wood and painted wall plaque from the Northwest Coast Native American Indians. The piece is believed to date to the early to mid 1900's. The plauque shows a solid wood board backing which has been painted black, cream / white and red in a typical totem design with a round piece of plywood cut into a circle and applied atop and a high-relief totem human like face at the center. The face shows a deep carving with paint of black, red and white / cream in the typical early totem style of the Northwest Coast. The piece overall is in good condition and appears to be of an early age. Measures 17"x10" and 3.25" off the wall.
