The piece shows a double sided beadwork on an Indian tanned hide from the Northern Sioux Native American Indians. The piece was created and used to hold the Indians US Ration Cards. Possibly from the Pine Ridge Sioux Indian Reservation. The beadwork is on both sides with a fancy beaded edge around the entire piece. Beaded with wonderful early glass trade seed beads in Cheyenne pink, greasy yellow, light blue, rare black, green, red. Rare to include the black beaded background. The piece is from the 1940-1950's and shows impressive well preserved condition. Measures 9 1/8" L x 2.25" W.
