The sheet is reinforced on the underside with two carved twigs with an attached rawhide chin strap. The upper surface of the shade is decorated with polychrome tempera decorations of two large yellow triangles bordered in green and red separated by a row of black and natural hide rectangles, the main device bounded by triangles and stepped "cloud" devices in green red and black, with nested red and blue triangles on the sides; 18" long x 10.8" wide. A rare, seldom encountered Plains accouterment. Deaccessioned from the Western Reserve Historical Society of Cleveland, Ohio. One twig broken, several bits of fringe broken.
