Northern Plains Obsidian Knife & Parfleche Sheath - This is a rare unique piece of Native American Antiques from the Northern Plains. The blade is made from hand flaked Obsidian and measures 4", the handles is made from Buffalo Rib Bone and measues approx. 3.5" and both are held together with a tar like substance (the entire piece measures just around 7.75". The sheath is Buffalo Rawhide Parfleche, sewn with brain tanned buffalo hide, and measures 7" long and has hand painted geometric symbols with 2 1700-1800's trade beads. This piece dates in teh 1800's to early 1900's and is in great condition.
