Northern Plains Fully Quilled Awl Case ca. 1950's
The lot features a fully quilled awl case from the Northern Plains of the circa 1950's. The case shows a rawhide parfleche and Indian hide construction covered with porcupine quill quillwork showing red, yellow, purple coloring. The top shows Indian tanend fringes and belt tie. The awl has an oak handle and steel point with a beaded fringes with bone amulets. Bottom has horse tail hair fringes. Has some glue securing the quillwork. All together it measures 13-inches long, without fringes the case by itself is 6.25-inches long, awl is 5.5-inches long without fringe.
