This is an original Buffalo bone vertabrea carved into the likeness of a Rocky Mountain Rams head from the Northern Plains Native American Indians. The antique piece shows good condition and would have been worn as a bolo type tie. Measures 4.5"x3.5"x2 5/8". This was purchased from the King Saddlery Museum in Sheridan, Wyoming where the Ernst Family had the collection displayed.. The pieces were original collected and sold by Otto F. Ernst in the 19th century. Otto Ernst was a renowned Saddle Maker and would purchase Native American items to sell in his Saddle shop and Catalog. Otto Ernst Saddlery Sheridan, Wyoming.
