This is from the Otto Ernst Collection out of King Saddlery Museum and features a rare beaded saddle blanket from the Northern Plains Native American Indians. The blanket is from circa 1890 and shows rare condition. The blanket shows early trade clothe and canvas base with cut facet glass early trade beads and metal disk. This was purchased from the King Saddlery Museum in Sheridan, Wyoming where the Ernst Family had the collection displayed.. The pieces were original collected and sold by Otto F. Ernst in the 19th century. Otto Ernst was a renowned Saddle Maker and would purchase Native American items to sell in his Saddle shop and Catalog. Otto Ernst Saddlery Sheridan, Wyoming.
