This is a set of Crow Native American beaded moccasins from the Otto Ernst Collection. The moccasins are beaded across the tops with a cross design surrounded by four box motifs. The set is from circa 1890 with 19th century glass trade seed. This was purchased from the King Saddlery Museum in Sheridan, Wyoming where the Ernst Family had the collection displayed.. The pieces were original collected and sold by Otto F. Ernst in the 19th century. Otto Ernst was a renowned Saddle Maker and would purchase Native American items to sell in his Saddle shop and Catalog. Otto Ernst Saddlery Sheridan, Wyoming. Each measures 10” L across the soles with 4.25” H backs. Original Museum tags. Little to no bead loss.
