This exquisite late 19th-century Northern Plains bow case and quiver is a masterwork of sinew-sewn craftsmanship. The piece features two finely detailed, rectangular panels of beadwork showcasing striking geometric designs, which frame the ends of the bow case.
The panels are beaded in pink, navy, light blue, greasy yellow, and red heart beads, colors characteristic of the era and region. The bow case and quiver are further embellished with long, flowing hide fringe, a traditional decorative element. Included with the case and quiver are a recurve bow with sinew lacing and four metal-tipped arrows, all complementing the set.
Overall, the set is in exceptionally fine condition, particularly for its age.
The beadwork is intact and vibrant, and the hide remains supple. Minor signs of wear consistent with age and use may be present, but do not detract from the item's remarkable state of preservation.
