1882, New York. Stock certificate for 100 shares. Green\Black. Engraved vignette of a steam locomotive at top center, nice portrait vignette of Frederick Billings at bottom. Issued to and signed on verso by Thomas Jefferson Coolidge (1831-1920). Thomas Jefferson's great-grandson. He was a successful businessman who made his fortune in the textile, railroad and banking industries. He later served as U.S. ambassador to France.
