The lot features an early fully top beaded set of Northern Arapaho Native American Indian moccasins dating to circa 1900. These early 20th Century set show a thick Great American Bison Buffalo Indian tanned hide construction with glass trade seed beaded “Buffalo Track” geometric traditional pattern that is both sinew and trade thread sewn. The moccasins show a hard-soled parfleche base, a true attribute of age. The beadwork is done in such beautiful original colors as chalk white, medium green, corn yellow, sky padre blue, black, red, and cobalt. The moccasins show a wide Indian tanned hide tie strap and hand cut scalloped edge high ankle. The set is in pristing museum quality condition and is thought to have been sold or traded by the original maker to a white man, as they appear to have been worn very little. Provenance: From the late E.E. Dorssom estate of Leavenworth, Kansas. Measures 10.5"L x 4”W x 4.5”H.
